Norman Panitch, M.D., FACP

Dr. Panitch is a gastroenterologist who is a specialist in all aspects of gastrointestinal disorders. He has been recognized as a leader in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Education and Training
After graduating from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, New York in 1964, Dr. Panitch went on to complete his medical training at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tennessee. He graduated with honors in 1968 and was inducted into AOA/Honor Medical Society. He finished his internship at Metropolitan Hospital, New York Medical College, New York, New York in 1969 and joined the United States Public Health Service in San Pedro, California from 1969 - 1971. He then completed an internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Harbor General Hospital - UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Panitch was voted best clinical educator of the year in the Gastroenterology for twenty-five years. Dr. Panitch, after completing his fellowship in gastroenterology, formed, along with Dr. Howard Resin, the South Bay Gastroenterology Medical Group in 1976 which now has expanded to include seven other gastroenterologists.
Dr. Panitch served as chief of the medical staff of Torrance Memorial Hospital from 1982-1983 and was the president of the Southern California Society of Gastroenterology in 1980-1981. Dr. Panitch is currently President of THIPA - Torrance Hospital Independent Physicians Association.
Dr. Panitch is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and is a member of the AGA and the ASGE.

Torrance Memorial Medical Center and Little Company of Mary Hospital.
Honors
Dr. Panitch has recently been named one of the "best doctors in America – Pacific region" and was recognized in Los Angeles magazine as one of the "best doctors" in Los Angeles in his field.
